And in fairness to our detractors, please read our negative press at USA Today, Treehugger and Wild Wilderness.

The Sky Gypsies is the world's largest and oldest aerotrekking club, headquartered in Rodeo, New Mexico. Our purpose is to help open unexplored and previously unreachable areas of America's wilderness to exploration using kite-winged aircraft. Membership to the club is by invitation.

Check out our second movie!
The Sky Gypsies operates a number of airfields around Arizona and New Mexico, each with varying facilities for airplane storage, refueling, lodging, etc. Members may organize individual or group treks between facilities, or they may do local treks, leaving from and returning to the same facility.

Our Rodeo headquarters includes a 7,200 foot main runway, a 3,000 foot crosswind runway, four hangars capable of storing 50 kite wing airplanes, a coffee shop and 24 hour movie theater dedicated to club member use, classic Airstream housing, a 2,000 gallon refueling tank, loaner cars for executive and premier members, an industrial greenhouse (the closest supermarket is 100 miles away), and a bank of ATVs for days when weather restricts our flying activities. See our PLACES page for more information.

Interested sport pilots with weight shift ratings, or anyone working on becoming a sport pilot, should contact visitors@skygypsies.com.
